Catching up!

Making amigurumi is my forte and I rarely make anything other than that. So when i got a request for a baby set, i had no clue where to start. With a little help and suggestions from my fellow crocheting friends, i was successfully able to make my first crochet baby set.
The base for the above baby shoe was made using Croby patterns . I have added a little bear applique for a cute look.

I also made this bear lovey as a part of the set and happy with the way it turned out.

There are some days when all i wanna do is crochet and some days i feel like not picking up the hook at all. I constantly waver between these two state of mind. I journal occasionally during those times. Most of the pages in my journal are incomplete but a fully written or designed journal page (even if it's just a single page) makes me so happy. Here's a spread for this month in my journal.

I'm trying to concentrate more on pattern designing this year and wish to publish more patterns in my Etsy shop. I recently published a new bunny pattern. You can get this and all other patterns for 20% discount from my Etsy shop till the end of August.

It's been 5 month since the first lock down due to COVID was implemented in our country. With growing number of cases each day, i doubt this lock down will be over soon. Guess we have to adjust to the new normal now. How's the situation in your place. Stay safe everyone wherever you are :)

Octopus Cupcake amigurumi pattern

I've been smitten by cute amigurumi foods lately. Most of my amigurumis are animals and i rarely make food amigurumis. So this time, i wanted to incorporate food theme into my ami and came up with the idea of Octopus cupcake. Read below for instructions on how to make one.

Crochet coasters

Hello friends, hope you all are doing good. Having a little baby around means the only time you get to spend for creating or crafting is while she's asleep. Here are some pictures of crochet coasters that i managed to whip up during those times.

I really loved the flower coaster pattern. It's a free pattern from A spoonful of sugar if you like to make one.

It's perfect to place my mom's delicious Gulab jamun....

..... or to place steaming hot tea that i enjoy in cold rainy days.

I even made some for my snail mail buddies and they loved it.

Hope you like it. Have a wonderful day all. Much love :)

This and that..

Hello lovelies! Feels good to be back in blogging. Having a baby around means very little time to do pretty much any other thing, So sorry for missing out posts from my blogging friends. I intend to catch up with you all and see what's happening in your world.
I really miss crafting time lately but i do try my best to squeeze in a little time for them when i can. Here's a little crocheted boots and headband that i whipped up for my baby girl.

Recently I've been addicted to drinking cinnamon tea with lemon and honey. Having them along with butter cookies is a great way to start a day.

Received this wonderful package from my fellow blogging friend Joy from We live at the top of the hill So kind and thoughtful of her to include a lovely card and beautiful dress for my little one. Thank you very much dear.

A close up shot of little flower from our garden.

Have a fantastic day everyone. Much love :)

Happy:)

Hello people! January seems to breeze past so fast. I had a wonderful time last month as my cousins arranged for an Indian style baby shower called 'Valaikaapu' in tamil. They prepared loads of my favorite dishes which i ate to my heart's content. I'm always hearing the sound of 4 dozen glass bangles that my relatives made me wear during the ceremony. It is said that the tinkle of glass bangles provide a good acoustic stimuli to the baby inside. And now i'm in my parents home enjoying the final trimester of my pregnancy.

Having no clue of what to do with the leftover yarn, i started making a colorful baby blanket. The blanket uses harlequin stitch and hoping i would finish this project before the baby arrives:) I'm also happy to see that my Baymax amigurumi pattern was featured in Craftingeek website.

My mom prepared one of my favorite dish called 'Paal kozhukattai' which is a rice dumpling dipped in a sweet sauce. My days are spent eating delicious foods prepared by mom and taking plenty of rest with a little bit of easy chores and walking. Wishing you all a happy february! Cheers:)

Hello friends!! I was so happy to see the Baymax amigurumi pattern  that i posted last month got some attention and many posted their lovely Baymax photos made using this pattern in Ravelryfacebook page and instagram. Thank you all :)

I haven't been much productive lately. All i did was to watch anime shows and read books. Well, at least they were entertaining. When i'm in no mood for anything, i'll take my sketchbook and draw whatever comes to my mind.

Baby octopus amigurumi

While many crocheters loves making blankets, scarfs and doilies, i always end up making cutesy little crochet projects and amigurumis. Guess the little girl in me likes cute stuffs and partly because i don't have enough patient to make big projects.

Here's a look at my baby octopus amigurumi that i made recently..

This is a free pattern from Berrysprite but i've modified a little for tentacles. It's very easy to make and can finish making it in less than an hour. I ended up making them in different colors and attached a tiny bow for a more kawaii look.

Amigurumi Minion :)

While people in the west are cheerfully welcoming the arrival  of spring, the climate is getting hot here in UAE and i'm afraid it'll only get intense hereafter. I'm feeling lazy these days and have no motivation to crochet anything new. Think i should have a look at pinterest to get some inspiration and get back on track.

I guess you all know i have a soft spot for making Amigurumis. One of my friend is a big fan of minions from 'Despicable me' and asked if i could make a little amigurumi minion for her. Although it was completed months ago, i only got to give her when i visited her in India last month. So happy to see that she loved it immensely..

You can find the free pattern from snacksies handcraft corner and Pops de milk.

Turns out that my brother is also a minion fan and now he wants one too after seeing this. Guess i should start making one for him :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter holidays.. Belated Easter wishes and blessings to you all..  have a fantastic day!! cheers :)

Work in progress..

I'm not a procrastinator... I just prefer doing all my work in a deadline-line induced panic.
I guess this quote applies to me very well. There's only 4 more days till i leave for vacation and i'm still in the process of making last minute gifts. I had a whole lot of free time last month but didn't started the project until last week.. Now that the time is nearing, i'm rushing up all my projects at a great speed..

Here's some of projects in progress...

Many liked the felt key chains i made, so i thought it would make a nice gift for my friends and cousins.

Making some crochet phone cases for my Uncle and Aunt.

Will soon come up with the finished project.. Have a fantastic day my friends :)
