Frogs seems to be popular on internet these days. I've been seeing lots of cute frog illustrations and artworks on Instagram and Pinterest and wanted to make these frogs for quite some time. So today we'll see how to make an amigurumi frog.

This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.
Materials needed:
- Sport weight yarn in green and white.
- 2 or 2.5 mm crochet hook.
- Fibrefill for stuffing.
- 8mm flat back eyes / safety eyes.
- Tapestry needle.
- Black embroidery thread.
- Small amount of pink felt.
Abbreviations:
- R - round/ row.
- Ch - chain.
- St(s) - stitch(es).
- Sc - single crochet.
- Inc - increase ( 2 sc in one st).
- Dec - decrease ( sc 2 st together).
- Sl st - slip stitch.
- [...] - repeat the instructions given in between the brackets.
- (...) - total number of stitches.
Head and body:
With green colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] X 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc in next 4 st, inc ] x 6 (36).
R7: [ Sc in next 5 st, inc ] x 6 (42).
R8- 15: Sc in each st (42).
R16: [ Sc in next 5 st, dec ] x 6 (36).
R17: [ Sc in next 4 st, dec ] x 6 (30).
R18: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x 6 (24).
R19: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec ] x 6 (18).
R20: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 6 (12).
Stuff firmly with fibrefill.
R21: Dec in each st (6).
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Eyes (make 2):
With green colour yarn.
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: [ Inc in next 2 st, sc ] x 2 (10).
R3-5: Sc in each st (10).
Stuff the eyes. If using safety eyes, insert them between R4 and R5.
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Arms (make 2):
With green colour yarn.
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Sc in each st (6).
R3: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 2 (8).
R4: Sc in each st (8).
Don't stuff and sc through both the layers at the top of the arms to close. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Legs (Make 2):
With green colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring.
R2: 2 sc in each st (12).
R3 -5: Sc in each st (12).
Stuff the legs and fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Belly patch:
With white colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring(6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc, inc, sc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next 2 st ] x 6 (36).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembling:
- Sew the eyes between R5 -7 on either side of the head.
- If using flat back eyes or felt, glue the eyes at this point.
- Sew the belly patch to the body just below R7.
- Attach arms a little slantingly between R10 -12.
- Sew the legs around R15- 17.
- Embroider the mouth using black thread.
- Cut 2 small round shaped pink felt for the cheeks and glue it below the eyes.
