Getting back on track..

I'm slowly finding  my way back into crafting and have to say I've missed this incredible feeling of creating new things and i'm glad i shunned my laziness to do something productive.

Here's a look my new quilled earrings. I love making these as they don't comsume a lot of time and you can make earrings and pendant to match your dress..

You can find the video tutorial on how to make these here

Origami Wall art..

Almost half of November has passed and realized i haven't posted anything on my blog yet. Even though i wish to be consistent in blogging, i find myself slacking off every now and then. I really wanted to make at least 3 posts every month and hope i could find time to do that..

I had some origami papers and was wondering what to do with it.. While looking for inspiration, I found this colorful Origami wall art from How about orange. It's such an easy and lovely project and here's my take on it...

I had only limited colors hence the small size.. i planned on filling up my empty walls with some painting and quilling...

And sketching at times for relaxation..

Hope you all are having a wonderful day.. have a fun filled weekend! cheers :)

Quilled Earring..

While talking to my mom on phone last week, she said that quilled earrings are now becoming quite a rage in our hometown and many liked the quilled card i made for my parents... this urged me take my quilling kit after a long time to make this earring.

I really liked the beehive technique used in some quilled earrings and wanted to try that.. hope it looks like it.. you can find the video tutorial here

Have a fabulous day my friends :)

Blog hop!

It's monday and time for posting my 'Around the world blog hop' post. Thank you, Ranjitha from Hookingtheyarn for inviting me to this blog hop..  Ranjitha is one of my very first blogger friend and her crochet creations are wonderful! do check out her blog. You'll fall in love with her lovely blog:)

This blog hop comes with some questions to answer.. here it goes..

1) What am i working on?

Nothing big at the moment. whipped up a peter pan crochet collar with matching bracelets

Making flowers with some scraps of color paper...

Also working on with the felt that i bought recently.. made this small pooh key chain plush. Happy that my first trial came out well :)

2) Why do i write/create what i do?

I create because of the sheer joy of making things! It feels wonderful when my crochet project turns out good or when i finish a drawing. Another reason is to avoid boredom.. i'm not much of a TV person and like to learn some new things everyday. I also love to see someone's face lit up when i give them handmade gifts.

3) How does my writing/creating process work?

I enjoy drawing, quilling, papercrafts apart from crocheting. So i tend to hop from one craft to another very easily. Sometimes, i'll be working on my project all day while other times, i'll put all my project on hold to read a good book or to watch movies :) I'm not much of an creative person and tend to depends upon written patterns for crochet from the net.. i modify a little to my liking.. I get a lot of inspiration from other blogs and Pinterest..

I'm passing this blog hop to
Joy from Loving crochet

Have a great day! Cheers :)

Quilled Card..

Football fever is catching up with people everywhere now that the world cup is in full flow. I remember during school days, me and my brother used to keep alarm and wake up at late night to watch the world cup matches. It was so much fun to watch along with my brother and we often end up betting on the opposite teams :)

Made this quilled card months ago and like the way it turned out.. my quilling kit has been long neglected after coming here and hoping to do some quilling soon..

also did some sketching...

Wanna share this lovely quote before leaving...

Have a lovely week everyone!

Jar of wishes!

Hello lovelies! hope you are having a good day :) This week i put my crochet projects on hold as i was in a mood to try something different.. while looking for some simple paper crafts, i stumbled upon this origami lucky star tutorial and just looking at them made me want to try it. It's pretty easy to make once you get the hang of it and quite addictive as well..

Lucky stars are said to bring good luck and blessings to the person you gift.. you can also fill them in glass jars and it will look lovely on your living room.. there are many colorful paper strips available to make these stars.. i made these from paper strips cut out from color sheets.

You can write some wishes, thoughts or quotes inside these paper strips.. write some things or lists to do in your life and try fulfilling the things given in the star when you open it and see how many you've achieved  in a year.

Handmade gifts are always way more special as it's made with love to the person you give. I'm going to  make some of these to give them to my friends (in small bottles, maybe).

Have a fun filled weekend!

Quilled earrings..

Hi friends, hope you are having a wonderful day. It's nearly a week and Grow your blog party is still going on! I'm really glad i joined this blog party and gained many lovely friends through it all thanks to Vicki.
Rmember the time when i made a quilled card without quilling paper and tools?? Well this time i did manage to buy some quilling papers.. I wanted to make a quick project with it for the first time so i came up with the idea of making ear rings..

knowing my love for making crafts, my brother gifted me colorful quilling papers, tools along with some yarns.. Such a thoughtful gift it was!

Now, what shall i do with them next??? Will see you guys with a new post soon..

My first ever Quilling!

Hi friends! hope you all are fine.. Though I've been into lot of crocheting lately, i do like to try something new for a change at times.. That's how i came across Quilling.. i was fascinated by this wonderful paper art and had a doubt if i could ever learn them..

Determined to give it a try, i was faced with some problems like a) I don't have any Quilling tool b) no quilling paper and c) not to mention, even a color sheet :(

But that's not a problem for a girl on mission right?  I patiently cut A4 sheets (the only paper that i had at home) into small strips and after looking at some quilling videos, i finally made one!

I painted the background with purple as it would make the white pop out compared to plain white
background... The difficult part was sticking them to the background surface.

I guess it's pretty okay for first time.. what do you think?
