Ever since the lockdown began, many people have turned their attention towards reading books. Reading a good book lift up our mood and help us relax which are really needed to get through this difficult times. I love reading a lot and always seem to lose my bookmarks when it's most needed. So i crocheted a flower bookmark recently. Read below for instructions on how to make it.

This pattern is written in US english terms.

Flower:
With Brown colour yarn and 3 mm hook,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring.
R2: 2 sc in each st (12).
R3: sc in each st and sl st to the first st (12).
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Join yellow colour yarn to the first stitch of the previous row using a slip stitch and
*chain 8, sc in second chain from hook, hdc in next 5 chains, sc in the last chain, sl st into the same stitch and sl st to the next st*, rep ** 11 more times.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Tassel and stem:

  • Take four strands of green colour yarn measuring about 60 inches each and keep it aside.
  • To make the tassels, loosely wrap green colour yarn around your fingers for 15 times (pic 1).
  • Insert the hook through the loop of the wrapped yarn and pick up the 4 strands of yarn (that we measured and cut before) from under (pic 2) and make a slip stitch (pic 3).
  • Continue to chain 40 or up to your desired length (with the 4 strands held together) and cut off the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing to the flower.
  • Take another small strand of green colour yarn and wrap it around the tassel and finish it with a double knot to make the head of the tassel (pic 5 and 6).
  • Trim off the excess yarn in tassel to a uniform length.
  • Now sew the other tail end of the stem to the back of the flower (pic 8).

Your flower bookmark is now done!
