Rainbow bee amigurumi pattern

 


Hello September! Autumn has arrived in some parts of the world while it's still sunny with rains in between here in South India. Not complaining though as I love bright days. I received lots of love for this rainbow bee that i posted on instagram and many have requested for the pattern. I'm finally done with the editing and here it is! Read below to know how to make these cuties.

This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.

Materials needed:

  • Sport weight cotton yarn in yellow, green, blue, lavender, pink, peach and white colour.
  • 2 mm crochet hook.
  • 8 mm safety eyes.
  • Fiber fill for stuffing.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Black embroidery thread.

Abbreviations:
R - round/ row,
St - stitch
Sc - single crochet.
Inc - increase ( 2 sc in same stitch).
Dec - decrease (sc 2 together).
Sl st - slip stitch.
[..] - repeat the instructions given in between the brackets.
(..) - total number of stitches.



Bee:
With yellow colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc in next 4 st, inc ] x 6 (36).
R7: [ Sc in next 5 st, inc ] x 6 (42).
R8: Sc in each st (42).
Switch to green colour.
R9-11: Sc in each st (42).
Switch to blue colour.
R12-14: Sc in each st (42).
Switch to lavender colour.
R15-17: Sc in each st (42).
Switch to pink colour.
R18-20: Sc in each st (42).
Insert 8 mm safety eyes between R4 and R5 on either sides from the center.
Switch to peach colour.
R21: Sc in each st (42).
R22: [ Sc in next 5 st, dec ] x 6 (36).
R23: [ Sc in next 4 st, dec ] x 6 (30).
R24: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x 6 (24).
Start stuffing and stuff as you go.
R25: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec ] x 6 (18).
R26: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 6 (12).
Stuff firmly.
R27: Dec x 6 (12).
Finish stuffing, fasten off and sew the ends closed using tapestry needle.

Wings (make 2):
With white colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 3 (15).
R4-5: Sc in each st (15).
R6: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 3 (12).
R7: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 4 (8).
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembling:
  • Attach the wings between R14-16.
  • Place the wings at a distance of 4 stitches in between.
  • Embroider a small smile using embroidery thread.

And your cute little bee is now ready to fly!
