Christmas pudding ornament pattern.


Can you believe there's only 50 days more for Christmas? It's the right time to make some Christmas ornaments to adorn your Christmas trees with. Here's a simple and easy Christmas pudding pattern for you guys to make. Read below for instructions.

Materials needed:

  • Sport weight yarn in brown, white, red, green, pink, blue and lavender colour.
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook.
  • Fiberfill for stuffing.
  • 8 mm safety eyes.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Black embroidery thread.
This pattern is written in US English terms and worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise.

Stitches/Abbreviations

  • R - round/ row.
  • Ch- chain.
  • St - stitch.
  • Dc - double crochet.
  • Hdc - half double crochet.
  • Inc - increase (2 sc in same stitch).
  • Dec - decrease ( sc 2 together).
  • Sl st - slip stitch.
  • [...] - repeat the instructions given in between the brackets.
  • (...) - total number of stitches.

Pudding:
With white colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: Inc in each st (12).
R3: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 6 (18).
R4: [ Sc in next 2 st, inc ] x 6 (24).
R5: [ Sc in next 3 st, inc ] x 6 (30).
R6: [ Sc in next 4 st, inc ] x 6 (36).
Switch to brown colour yarn
R7: Work in back loops only, [ Sc in next 5 st, inc ] x 6 (42).
R8-14: Sc in each st (42).
R15: [ Sc in next 5 st, dec ] x6 (36).
R16: [ Sc in next 4 st, dec ] x 6 (30).
Attach 8 mm safety eyes between R12 and R13 with a distance of 7 stitches in between.
R17: [ Sc in next 3 st, dec ] x 6 (24).
R18: [ Sc in next 2 st, dec ] x 6 (18).
R19: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 6 (12).
Stuff firmly with fiberfill.
R20 : Dec in each st (6).
Fasten off and close in the ends.
Rejoin white yarn to the front loops of R6 and 
[ Sc in next st, 3 dc in next, sc in next, sl st in next ] x 9. Fasten off and with the remaining yarn tail, sew the peak of the scalloped edge (icing) to the head.




Cheeks (make 2):
With pink colour yarn,
6 sc in magic ring and sl st to the first st. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Cherry:
With Red colour yarn,
R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
R2: [ Sc in next st, inc ] x 3 (9).
R3: Sc in each st (9).
R4: [ Sc in next st, dec ] x 3 (6).
Finish stuffing. Close the round and fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Leaf (make 2):
With green colour yarn,
Ch 6, sl st in second chain from hook, sc in next chain, hdc in next, 2 dc in next and sl st in the last chain. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
 
Assembling:
Using black thread, embroideer the mouth.
Attach cheecks just below the eyes on either side.
Sew the cherry and leaves at the top of the head.
Add in some sprinkles on the head using desired colours if needed.


And your cute pudding ornament is now done!
