Hello lovely people! I love reading books very much. Reading a new book is like going on an new adventure. Although i read eBooks mostly nowadays, actual books are always special and never goes out of style. Whenever i read books, i mostly use cloth tags as bookmarks and got so bored looking at it. So i though why not make your own bookmark?? There are lots of free printable bookmarks available on the internet but making it from scratch all by our self is more fun. Here's a tutorial on how to make easy bookmarks on your own.
Materials needed:
1. Used cereal box or tissue box (or a card stock)
2. Color papers of your choice
3. Glue stick
4. Scissors
5. Black pen
6. Color pens (optional)
7. Clear contact paper
Instructions:
Step 1: cut the cereal box or card stock in the size you want your bookmark to be (mine measured 2"x4")
Step 2: paste your desired base color paper on both sides of the card-stock..
Step 3: using contrast color paper, draw a simple picture that you like using black pen. Make a thick outline so it's easy to cut it out.
Step 4: Also cut or punch some designs for your bookmark background ( i cut some circles, rectangle and a conversation bubble for the above bookmark)
Step 5: paste the picture that you have cut in your desired place..
Step 6: Now its time to decorate the background. You can also use sketches or color pens to decorate the background.
Step 7: finally cut a two clear contact paper for protection leaving at least half cm around the sides of bookmark.
Be careful when sticking them to the bookmark so that there's no bubble. Then cut of the excess contact paper.
And you're done!!!!
Note:
Draw some simple pictures so it's easier to cut them out.
You can also use color pencils instead of color paper for pictures. (The bear holding heart at far right corner in first picture is drawn using color pencils)
You can make it more personalized by writing your favorite quotes or a person's name.
I think this would be a fun project to make it along with your kids.
I really love making this that i ended up doing a lot. Which one do you like. My favorite is the sheep dreaming of donut ♥♥♥
